Group Therapy

Introduction:

Do you like the idea of working in a group? Maybe it’s the environment? Maybe you feel a sense of motivation? We at United Hearts can offer you the opportunity to join a group learning and therapy experience. Our groups consist of anything from 2 hours to more in-depth, immersive learning experiences. Whatever your fancy, we might have something that maybe of some interest to you.

How does Group Therapy work?

Group therapy is a type of therapy in which a small group of people meet with a counsellor. The group members share their experiences and feelings, and the counsellor helps guide the group to help each other, while learning new skills and strategies to cope with their issues.

Benefits of Group Therapy

Group therapy has several benefits for people in a variety of situations. It can provide emotional support, validation, and understanding from other people who may be going through the same struggles. It can also provide a safe space to practice new communication and problem-solving skills. Group members can learn from each other and gain insight into their own behaviour and thoughts.

How Does Group Therapy Work?

Group therapy typically begins with an assessment of the group members in order to determine their needs and objectives. The counsellor will then work with the group to establish ground rules and expectations for the group. During the sessions, the counsellor will help the group to explore their feelings and experiences, while providing guidance and support. The goal is to help the group members gain insight into their own behaviour and to learn strategies to better handle their issues.

Conclusion

Group therapy can be a beneficial way to learn about our emotional needs with the company of other people. It is helpful for some as they realise that they aren’t the only ones that are feeling the way they do. It is also a great way to build confidence for some as they also learn to talk more openly in front of others. Ultimately, the aim is to help us on the journey to feeling more whole again.
